Apparently they can still get the Bronze......sigh.....

On a related note, I read an interesting analysis that demonstrated women soccer players are overpaid compared to men.  No wonder the judge tossed their lawsuit.  Economics ladies.....equal opportunity but not equal outcome for less performance.  And this from a team beaten by a team of teenage boys.

MM, you're just mean.   News of Canada victory brought a smile to my face as well.

On another note, neat that Sumi Lee won the Gymnastics all around and they rolled Toomers Corner!!

Not sure I want to punish the majority of the team for the transgressions of one or more narcissists on the team, but they definitely need to take a lesson from the swimmers and gymnasts.  They showed class and dignity rather than having a "look at ME" attitude.

I used to really enjoy women's soccer, especially when Catherine Whitehill (nee Reddick) played as a defender on the Womens' National Team (she played for the same Birmingham club as my daughter, but was three to four years older).  It was all about team with them.  Doesn't seem so now.  It is a freaking sport, people, it isn't politics, and because you are good at a sport, your political views should stand on their own merits and not be more important because you can kick a freaking soccer ball, shoot a basketball, or score a touchdown.

And the Olympic committee tucked their tales and ran regarding the one who crossed her arms in an "x".

Trust me, I take no joy in not wanting a U.S. team to do well in any sport and especially the Olympics.  I remember where I was when we beat the Russians in hockey and how proud we were.  But despite it being a few bad apples, it's up to the others on the team to tamp them down or the U.S. Olympic committee to explain to them what it means to represent your country as part of a team and the responsibility that comes with it.  To the extent they get away with this anti-American nonsense they will not get the kind of support they should from many Americans and it's a sad day when their actions and lack of respect for the country causes their fellow Americans to root against them......and yet that is where we are.  They have no one to blame but their own narcissistic selves.  I wouldn't buy a product that nasty woman reps for.....she can get her Benjamins from someone else.

She failed to medal......so we got that going for us.  Even if she were the most patriotic athlete in the world, which she obviously isn't, she is a freaky looking thing.
