How many people realize that?!?!?!?  State Dept says they don't know how many but said there were thousands, maybe as many as 5,000 or more still there.  They are hiding in their homes or anywhere they can and can't get to the airport.  And the Taliban is going door to door to find them. 

How many will be held hostage?  How many will be executed?  To think Jimmy Carter only left 400 or so in Iran and what a debacle that was for the country.  I had not believed this could get worse but it is getting worse by the day.  And Dementia Joe and Dr. Jill, PhD have run back on vacation at Camp David while thousands of American citizens are trapped there awaiting a terrible fate.  This goes beyond partisan politics and anyone that tries to defend this is unworthy of being considered a human being.

Actually, they have been told by the State Department to stay in place for now and they will be notified when it is time for them to go to the airport.  That's the US citizens.  It's the Afghans that have worked for the US that are at risk.  They are not necessarily located near the airport.

And the reason they were told to stay away is that they have no idea how to get them out because they never concieved the Taliban would take over so quickly because they are utterly incompetent.  Think about how many flights will be necessary to get 5,000 or more Americans out of there while the airport is surrounded by the Taliban who likely now have the ability to shoot down planes given all the military equipment they left behind and those they get from Iran and Russia.  Heck, I saw a video from Kabul where some Taliban idiot was pointing an RPG at some people being detained.  It's a freaking nightmare and will take a big military effort to undo with lots of casualties...all unnecessary.

And the military has already stated they are unprepared to go door to door to rescue Americans.  They have no way to safely to get to the airport if and when they can get them out.  I have seen messages from American citizens that are terrified because the Taliban is going door to door searching for them.  Your response made it sound like it was some grand plan to get them out in an orderly fashion.  Not even close......it's don't come to the airport because we have no idea how to get you out of there yet.  They were totally unprepared and are scrambling to get them out by sending back in thousands of U.S. troops.  It's a complete and utter debacle and the administration deserves not one iota of sympathy or support for what they have done.

It seems that the problem is all the Taliban checkpoints on the way to the airport.  Today I heard that an English speaking Afghan who had been an interpreter was turned away from the airport by US forces because he didn't have the right piece of paper.  Right now the Biden Administration is saying that the military will not go door to door, but Biden is not going to be able to stand the heat if the media reports that any Americans can not get out.  

I can tell you that the State Department sucks at planning, much less executing a plan, but that is fairly obviousl at this point.  I feel sure that they will get all the Americans out but I'm not sure about the Afghans.  I heard a debate today, which no one seems to know the answer to - Biden has said that all troops will be out of August on 31 August.  Right now, no one is sure if he will stick to that, or allow operations to continue.  The spokesperson at the Pentagon said that it is a physical impossiblity to get everyone out by 31 August.  

I have another question:  So when we airlift all the Afghans out, they intend to house them on military installations.  Then what?  Want to bet that the State Department will not have any plans for it either?

Every report I have read or seen reeks with the frustration and disgust by the military.  Biden says the chaos at the airport was "unavoidable", - maybe not in his mind, but I doubt many people agree with him.  And no surprise, Milley is saying that there was nothing in the intelligence that indicated the Taliban would move to swiftly, but that is not what the intelligence community is saying.  I personally think that Milley is Biden's lap dog.  

I knew the Biden Administation would be a nightmare, but I didn't know he would screw up as much as he has as quickly as he has.  Do you think Kamala is still studying how to make the immigrants stay home???

Yeah, she thinks if we can just make their home countries a paradise they will stay home.  News flash for her.....we can't do that there any more than we did in Afghanistan or Iraq.  The only way they stay home is to secure the border and enforce immigration laws so they get arrested and sent home.  And when we start putting business owners in prison that hire illegals we will dry up their source of Yankee dollars to send south.  So no, Kamela has no clue what she is doing any more than Joe and all we would accomplish with his leaving is to replace rambling, senile nonsense with cackling like a heyena nonsense.  Step one is to get control of the House and/or Senate and put an end to their destruction of the country.  Step two is to replace them in 2024 with someone who is competent and doesn't send out mean tweets.

Fish is quiet; architect is quiet along with the other holier than thou demo   They can't say a word.    My heart goes out to the people in Afghanistan.   The Americans, girls and women who will not get out.      I think about my 16 year old granddaughter who is on the autistic spectrum-and how it would so affect her.   It makes me sick we are not able to get these people out in a timely manner And we are handing over  all our weapons they will eventually use on us.  Why in the HE......did we give those criminals the Air Force base.

Billions of dollars of US equipment is now the hands of the Taliban.  If they didn't have an air capability before, they have one now, excdpt for the aircraft that the Afghan miliary flew out of the country to get away.  Understand that the senior levels of Afghani military were taking the ammunition intended for their troops and sold it to the Taliban on the black market.  They have, of course, taken their suitcases full of money and left the country at the first sign of trouble.

Yes, to Biden, that was old news and therefore not worthy of discussion.  You know what they say in Washington, if you don't like the question, ignore the question and provide the answer to something you want to talk about.  The truth is that there are no excuses for what has happened.  He's a fool and incompetent as he has proved in every political office he has held.  The man is not a leader - at best he is a good second banana, but even Obama had his reservations about that.  

Some of us are old enough to remember when we pumped so much money in Cental America in the early 90s, to try to sway the outcome of the civil war in El Salvador and to stop the drugs passing through the other Central American countries.  I've been to a number of those countries a number of times.  Part of the problem is the crushing poverty, part of it is cultural, and the corruption is staggering and so ingrained in their culture.  Even something as simple as getting a driver's license involves providing a payoff to the clerk over and above any fees that might otherwise be required.  You do nothing there that doesn't involve a payoff.  And now there is the problem of the gangs.  The Salvadorans in particular, but other countries too, bring the gang mindset when they come.  Local gangs control things and if you don't want something to happen to you, you payoff the gangs or you will eventually die. There isn't much industry to speak of, and no one is going to put industry down there.  Some come here becasue they truly do want to work and earn and make things better for their families.  But others are very well versed in the public welfare system of the US.  So Kamala can think and study all she wants but the only solution is to tighten our border security and to make them go through our immigration system.  Trump had that one right.
