Great video, know the dash well.  You know as we get older we think about our lives and accomplishments as if they matter later.  But in the end just remember that once we are gone, we mattered not.  After 10 or 20 years no one will even know we existed except for God.

Thanks for sharing this as it is timely for me as my Mom is going into hospice care this week.  She's 89 years old, her heart is failing and won't get better and she is tired of doctors and hospitals and all the poking and prodding.  She has had quite the dash and having lived with us for almost 20 years she will be missed, especially by my kids who have pretty much grown up with her in the house.  But I can't say that I blame her for making the decision.  Pray that she holds on for my brother to get here to have a final visit.  He gets in from Spokane tomorrow at midnight.

Our thoughts and prayers with you MM, and your family.  My Mom was there in 2017.  My brother and I were able to take turns and be with her 24/7 those last six months.  That time was precious.  She finally asked if ok if she checked out.

She passed away peacefully last night at the age of 89.  Raised 5 kids and had a good, long life but she was sick and tired of being sick and was ready to go.  Sadly my brother was not able to get here in time.  I got the chance to sit and hold her hand near the end and will miss her greatly but am glad she's no longer suffering.  Thanks to all for the prayers.

MM, I feel your pain but also the joy that she is with Jesus.  Moms are so special and losing them is like a hole in the heart.  My mom told me as she went into a second bypass surgery in 1999 that she had no fear and was ready to go if God wills it.  I try everyday to live that way not fearing death and every morning I wake, thank God for one more day.

My condolences, but after having a similar experience with my wfe's Dad who lived with us his last nine years, I know that while you grieve, you know deep down that you did the right thing for her and she is looking down now saying "well done, son."
