Since Hodja got good suggestions on heating units I want to try with Canister Vacuum cleaners.   I needed something strong to keep my bare floors clean.  Looking for bag type vacuum that will grab anything near it.

I had an older Dirt Devil that was great until an HVAC company used it onto much sheet rock dust, and now it is cooked.

I think the bag type are more powerful but that may not be the case these days.  What can you recommend? Miele, Kenmore and Dyson are listed often but I prefer some first hand knowledge on suction power and use.

Thanks

Dont have a canister but do have a Dyson bagless upright that has very impressive sucking power. If they make a canister and claim it is powerful, I would believe it.

Any vacuum will pick up on  bare floors.   It is carpet  that is the problem. I  always buy a vac that is advertised for pet hairs.  Never paid more than  $80. We have Bissell from Walmart. Added feature which is great is a  retractable  cord. Ours is probably 3 years old and they seem to change models every year. 3 year  warranty so if it loses suction just get it fixed.

Kenmore shop vac.   They make a small one with rolling wheels, retractable cord, several attachments and reasonable.   I have one on each floor of my house.     My husband bought me a Dyson but after using several times on hardwood floors went back to my shop vac.   Suction better on hardwood.   Gave my Dyson away.
