Everyone needs to read Hiden’s ignorant comments to the press when he made his stupid statement about guns.  It’s very obvious that he knows nothing, or probably more correct, his keepers know nothing about guns.  While I would not expect a lifetime dimokrap political idiot to know much, he should get better versed, if he expects any respect from Americans.  FYI:  While I understand his comment about the .22 round….is he aware that 99% of AR-15 use the .223 round…a .22.  Also, the dreaded 9mm is a weak pistol round preferred by most because of less recoil….not because it is so powerful.  Yes, most of us know enough to not show our ignorance….not BIDEN.

"They said a .22-caliber bullet will lodge in the lung, and we can probably get it out — may be able to get it and save the life. A 9mm bullet blows the lung out of the body," Biden said.  Which doctor is he getting this stuff from - Dr. Suess???

You would think that SOMEONE in his circle would know that you use different bullet types for different purposes.  And after hearing about how the Subjects don’t need that POWERFUL 5.56, it is only fitting that these same idiots are saying that 9mm is in the same category.

And if there was still anyone naive enough to believe that that line about "we only want to ban one kind of gun", his comments make it clear that der Fuhrer's wish is to take guns one flavor at a time...

IMHO the purpose of a handgun like 9mm is self defense.  I might want more than just a "lodge in the lung"

His handlers are not trying to be accurate.  They understand the govt media will not fact check him.

Yes, and I think this is a good thing - as the liberals never bother to get their facts straight, it makes it that much easier to shoot holes in their arguments.  Biden is just as bad as his VP - who said that assault rifles are made to kill a lot of people.  Well, AR does not stand for "assault rifle", it actually is tied to the name of the first manufacturer.  And the AR-15 is not an assault rifle anyway.  Assault rifles are fully automatic and the AR is not.

I imagine Biden got his information from the guy I saw on TV the other day, who was saying much the same thing about the damage done - he claimed by the gun- but of course, we all know that the bullet makes a difference.

The interesting thing to me is that the border patrol agent that took out the shooter was using a shotgun; and the shooter is just as dead as the people he killed with is AR.

On Memorial Day, Biden made another of his screwed of speeches - talking about the fallen, i.e., people killed in battle and injecting his son who died of a brain tumor - like it was the same thing, because he served in the military (but he was well out of the military when he developed a brain tumor.  Maybe that is Biden's problem - maybe he has a brain tumor.

But beware the high caliber 9mm round that will literally blow the lung completly out of the body.

I have no doubt DJ has no idea what he is talking about.  My personal carry gun is a 45 caliber with hollow points.  I pray I never have to use it in self defense but if I do I plan to stop someone.  9mm is not enough to ensure that happens.

+1 on the 45, same as I do.  both kids carry those 9mm lung punchers and the wife has small hands so prefers either the 380 or a walther 22 anything bigger and she does not like the grip and a double stack on her is out of the question.

Took my latest to the range this weekend probably not going to be a good carry choice - replica black powder 44 walker - 9 inch barrel and around 4 lbs.  Its a beast but fun to shoot.

I am at the farm, and my "property/tractor setup" is a 9mm G17 with a pair of reloads. I am a firm believer that placement is more important than caliber, but if I am wearing "Winter clothes" a 1911 in .45 ACP is my prefered carry.  The wife has confiscated my G26 and G43 and does well with both.  The 43 is especially comfy to carry. Agree that the 9's are light recoiling, but she has shot a .500 with light (375 grn) loads, and a .308 pistol...  And .380's.  She prefers the 9's because the smaller .380's have a sharper recoil.  I would HIGHLY recommend against using any rimfire as a carry piece.

I ahve a great video of my 15 year old daughter firing a tactical shotgun with a pistol grip.  She was around 115 pounds soaking wet at the time.  The smile on her face was priceless.

Agree 100% on the rimfire - but its better then nothing or a knife.

I am assuming the 308 pistol was a typo and was supposed to be 380  -  but there are a few 308 pistols avilable, if you have one - cool, but would probably be harder to carry.

Yes, better than a knife in most cases, but remember to ALWAYS carry as knife to a gunfight too...

No typo - a T/C Encore with a 15" .308 barrel and a 2 - 8X scope...  Not a PDW, but makes for a nice deer/hog pistol...

Cool probably about like my T/C 1st gen with the 7mm international its a 30-30 necked to 7mm with a 14 inch barrel - its fun to pop old 12 guage shells at 100 yards with and you could use it as a tack driver, but like you said - not much of a carry weapon.

If yours is a pre G2 Contender, I know they it is sweet - I have a Super 14 .223 barrel on one and the trigger pull is unreal.  JDJ makes some wildcat barrels that are really nice with the modified rimmed cases..   I wanted a .375 JDJ (.444 Marlin case that is necked down), but back in '93, they wanted about $1,700 and UP for the complete pistol...  Talk about a stomper..

Based on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thompson/Center_Contender

Mine woud be an origional frame variant 2 with the selector for rim/centerfire on top of the hammer in smooth walnut.  Have several barrels for it 218 bee, 22 hornet and the 7mm int come to mind right away - all are less then inch group at 100 yards on a sandbag.  hard to come by barrels for the older frames, but they do sometimes turn up - but most are really proud of them.

Three variants of the original Contender design were later developed, distinguished easily by the hammer design. The first variant has a push button selector on the hammer for choosing rimfire vs. centerfire, the second variant has a left-center-right toggle switch for selecting center fire-safe-rimfire firing pins, and the third variant has a horizontal bolt selection for choosing center fire-safe-rimfire firing pin positions
