What is the relationship between CO2 and Temperature change?

As a geologist/geophysicist I am very familiar with this graph.  Even given the uncertainties of estimating temps and CO2 levels it is readily apparent that: 1) there is no long-term correlation between CO2 and global temperatures; and 2) we are at a period of historically low CO2 levels.  Also interesting that the explosion of life in the Triassic occurred with higher global temperatures.  It seems that living organisms like warm climates more than cold ones.  Also interesting that those periods of explosive growth in organisms are also the ones that created the organic matter that through time, pressure and temperature created crude oil (not to mention the deposition of cap rocks that captured the oil so we could cost effectively produce it).  Almost as if God was saying all these people I am going to create are going to need a source of energy to help them survive and thrive.

It's all Globaloney and just a neo-Marxist excuse to transfer wealth from the developed world to developing and third world countries.

Now consider that: During the Carboniferous period when huge deposits of calamites were laid down (later to be pressed into coal through diagenesis) the CO2 / O2 curves significantly diverged. Could it be that the C-O2 bond was broken and the C store in the coal?

Look at the P-T horizon. The largest extinction ever, initiated rapid and significant temperature rises (Wilkes Land Meteorite and the resultant [antipodal] Siberian Traps [hypothesis]). The PT event also preceded a sharp drop in O2 and a sharp rise in CO2. BUT, no such reaction to the Chixulub K-T horizon extinction event (beginning of the Cenozoic).

Atmospheric oxygen concentration continues to rise since the T-J Extinction and CO2 continues to fall.

What is the role of mankind in the “catastrophic rise” in CO2 ?

And of course an even more important question is not just whether man is responsible for a portion of increasing CO2 levels, which I think is probably yes given the release of carbon that is stored in fossil fuels.  But whether it is really a problem in the first place.  More CO2 will promote plant growth as will higher temps.  And of course the question about whether man can adapt to these small changes over relatively short periods of time (geologically speaking) to which I say yes, obviously.

What I would rather see is for the climate alarmists to stop proposing short-term "solutions" that will have almost zero impact on global climates but tremendous negative impacts on our standard of living, especially to poor and lower working class.  They should be focusing all their energy and attention on viable, cost effective alternative sources of energy that can be implemented without killing millions of people.

THIS is excellent example of why the AGW folks will not openly debate their thesis:
