I haven't got the slightest clue.  On the one hand, I would like to tell the ChiCom's to GFY.  They aren't going to dictate when and where our politicians can travel to another country.....even worthless politicians like Pelosi.  On the other hand, I see absolutely zero benefit to her visiting Taiwan and making such a big deal out of it.  It's almost like they're trying to provoke the ChiCom's into a response of some sort.  So absent some strategic reason to visit Taiwan it seems to me the risks far, far outweigh any benefits to the country.  Now maybe she's going there to get some inside info that she can share stock tips with her husband so he can once again outperform every other investor in America.....but other than that it is a mystery.  Not that they need the money but maybe he's worried about going to jail for the DWI...why he would be worried about that is a mystery to me.

My sense is she will not go and will claim it was for a reason other than the obvious......ChiCom threats.

Other option is probably so that if something did happen, then during the midterms and next election they can try to say that to change presidents now would be bad in a time of war, something something Trump Jan 6th, Your not black if you didnt vote for Biden, something racist, sexist, Hitler, Nazi, deplorable,

we used to have a Sec of State to represent our foreign policy==but ===I'm not sure we even have a foreign policy

Even though they deny it, it's singnalling a major change to US Foreign policy.  There have been strict rules about visiting Taiwan.  Anyone with any kind of managment in their title were not permitted to go.  When I had Taiwan in our office portfolio, my action officer that worked Taiwan could go, but I could not, nor my boss or the General.  

I'm not really sure what she thinks she is doing if she is not signalling a change in policy.  The WH claims they discouraged it, as did the State Department.  But do we even have a foreign policy anymore?  And Pelosi, who can say what will come out of her mouth?  Is she encouraging Taiwan to open chip manufacturing in the US?  I think it makes us look weak. Just as bad as Biden groveling to the Saudi Prince about oil.  Well, on the other hand, Obama had his apology tours, so may this is the Democratic begging tour.  

If China would shoot down her plain or if somethiing happens while she is there, you know the _____ will hit the fan.
