Interesting results in the Kansas vote for or against abortion rights.

There are 1.93 million voters in Kansas with 560,000 Independents, 851,000 are Republicans, and 495,000 are Democrats.

The Republicans in the Legislature put forth a ballot question about changing the Kansas Constitution to restrict abortion. They proposed it for this primary election since the voter turnout is typically quite low compared to November.

The results are quite surprising. The large turnout for a primary election in August shows the abortion issue will be big in November. With 800,000 votes counted, 60% said NO and 40% said YES to a change to restrict abortion rights. In the 2020 Presidential election, Trump 56% and Biden 42%. A rather astounding reversal and vote supporting a women's right in a Red state.

This is the way it should work.  It's called Federalism and the elimination of Roe v Wade made this possible.  What pro-life people need to do is change the hearts and minds of people in Kansas to allow sensible restrictions on abortion or an outright ban if that is what they desire.  If not, then so be it.   Unlike Democrats, Republicans don't vote in lockstep and many of them are pro-abortion, sadly in my view, but true.  But Kansas did the right thing and allowed the citizens to decide if the legislature should regulate abortion.

And of course, Dementia Joe in his latest fit of senile nonsense said that the Kansas vote is exactly why we need Federal legislation on abortion.  He is that stupid and senile to draw that conclusion....more likely whoever wrote the words for him to barely read is just stupid and leaves us scratching our head.  What may be the will of a majority of voters in Kansas may not be the will of voters in many other states.  Let them decide.   Then the pro-life groups can focus on changing the hearts and minds of voters in the states where abortion is allowed.  If not, then so be it.
