Looking at the daily lake level, it appears that the lake filled up too quickly and they are lowering the level to where it should be. It is at most 2/10 ft below where it should be for this date. You can check where it is and where it should be daily at this site:

You got to understand the main reason the lake was built was for flood control; to keep Montgomery from flooding. They know what they are doing.

The lake was built for power and for flood control....your personal enjoyment was an afterthought, and not really considered back in the 20's. The people running the show are doing exactly what they are supposed to do given their current directives. With heavy rains in the forcast, they are doing the right thing.
