I'm looking for an old canoe. Something wooden, not too large, to hang in our greatroom. (6 or 7 feet, maybe even 8 foot would be a great length.) I would also like to find an old ships wheel or other pieces to decorate with.
Does anyone know if there's anywhere around that such "stuff" might be available for sale? (Directions will also be needed)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I have NO idea what I am really looking for.
I just discovered there's no such thing as a 6,7 or 8 foot canoe. I goofed.
All I know is that I want a canoe hung in our greatroom. The rooms is 22 feet wide, so I guess a canoe around 18 feet or less is what I need.

Still,....I need a place to find such an item. Anyone know where I can shop? Old, used, cheap?

Larger ship wheels will usually be found for sale near the gulf since they are used on larger boats. We live in the Florida Panhandle and have seen some at stores in Appalachicola. You may want to consider if you really want to mix saltwater items like the ships wheel and fresh water or lake items like a canoe, paddles, old fishing lures and pictures of frrsh water fish. We live on the gulf and this house has salt water fishing items and the lake condo is limited to fresh water only. You may also want to post a classified add on the Forum under the various boat headings.

I searched on ebay under canoe and there are various signs and stuff you may like at reasonable prices.

Thanks Gonefishing. I haven't really thought of "fresh water" and "salt water". Makes sense. I looked all day for used canoes, but found most to be pricey.
I will check ebay. Thanks again.

Joyrider, I have a few local FRESHWATER/LAKEWATER items you might be interested in. They include various hi-dollar stainless propellers with blades ripped off, nice shiney Bravo One outdrives with bent propeller shafts and broken skegs, small and big block heads cracked and broken from overheating and even several pistons reduced to molten metal from running a blower motor too lean. All these items when purchased new were very, very expensive. They would make a GREAT decor for your new lake cabin, and they could be yours for the low price of only .50 cents. Heck, they make great decor and conversation pieces for my shop, try them yourself and see. I'll deliver. I may can dig up a vintage Holley carb. for you.

Like I know what you just said!!!!!!!!
You might as well have been speaking German!

Remember,...I am decorating a HOUSE Cat, NOT opening a repair shop!

Does it have to be real?

I have seen them at Hobby Lobby. You can go on-line at www.hobbylobby.com and find a flyer. I live in Georgia. The web page can tell you where stores are.
