From your initials JNR, I am making the assumption that your middle name is Neil and your first name may be Jonathon. Make the young man a Junior.

They are beautiful. I couldn't possibly decide. But I see your initials are jnr - so do you want a Junior? Mine are #3 and #4 in the line. But hubby goes with first name and son goes with middle name.

For my 2 cents worth:
1) Whatever you call him, have it in first position. Legal paperwork, you know. His calling name may get dropped on legal papers over time.
2) As a high school teacher, I was told by a kindergarten teacher, make first names short for learning to write. And she even mentioned it makes it easier for teachers not to have to write a long name on millions of papers.

These are just things I remember from people telling me about names.

Now in the book, Freakonomics, it will probably tell you which name is good to have your son grow up to be President or a lower station in life. They've done a study on it in the book, I believe. I haven't read it yet, but want to for that very reason (and other culturenomics) Good Luck and let us know! When is the baby due?

Thank you for the inputs. Naming a baby isn't that easy. My wife wants either jonathan neil jr. or james daniel. So we're gonna go with jnr jr. The baby is due June 14 and they say he's gonna be a big boy. He weighs 4 ounces more than the average weight as of now, and he perfectly healthy.. I'll keep ya'll updated!

Bubba should cover all bases.

Having a big baby is cool. For one thing (although I had a ceasarian - guys you want to hear more about that? I didn't think so) it's like that baby is already older and not so fragile. (Mine were 9 lbs. 3 oz and 9 lb. 4 oz. respectively.)

But they will want to eat solids sooner because they can't get full. If you end up having a big boy like that, then have your wife post if she wants to ask me anything about my experiences. Congrats!!!!!!

Oh, not that it always means anything to have a big baby that will become a big boy...but mine did: #1 is 6'2" and was 260 lbs. in high school (offensive line) and #2 is just 12 and is 5'9", 170 lbs., 11 shoe, 34 men's pant. He's supposed to be 6'4 " or 6'5". I tell his older brother to quit beating him up because it is going to come back to BITE him!

Congratulations an exciting time. These are some points you might want to consider when choosing a name for a big boy..... Which name would look better on the back of a jersey and which name would sound better over a loud speaker when preceded by the words: "Tackled by ----------".

Since you are asking this question, I assume congratulations are in order! For what it's worth, we took a family poll and like Jonathan Neil.
A good, solid, honest name that a boy can be proud of and grows well into adulthood. Shaun was in last place followed by James Daniel (too close to Jack Daniel) and William Neil (which would be shortened to Bill and Bill Neil is too melodic....). No one liked Jackson as a first time but thougt it was ok in the middle. Are you sorry you asked???
