Just to clarify - There are (were) 8 buildings that comprise Sunset Point and Sunset Cove in StillWaters. They are all yellow, and they all have green roofs. The Sunset Point condos were built first, and they begin from left to right as you face the large pool. Sunset Cove condos are the last 3 buildings near Stoneview.

The building that burned is Sunset Point I, the building just to the right of the pool, and the first (and oldest) building of the section.

One unoccupied building worth at Sunset Point condominiums in Stillwaters burned down Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. the Stillwaters Volunteer Fire Department came to the scene to find the building, which housed seven time-share condos, in flames.

"Right now we don't know how the fire was caused," said Stan Gilles, the assistant fire chief of Stillwaters Volunteer Fire Department and the property manager of Sunset Point. "We don't know if there is any type of arson involved. We're going to do an arson investigation tomorrow."

Pace's Point Fire and Rescue Department and Union Volunteer Fire Department were also called to the scene to help fight the fire. The fire took hours for the 25 volunteer firefighters to put out. Gilles said there were no injuries, but some of the firefighters needed assistance.

"We've had to treat them for heat, but they're all OK," Gilles said.

Gilles said the last time people occupied the building was Friday, June 20. He said they checked out at 11 a.m. and maids later cleaned the rooms. He said the seven-condo building cost more than $1 million.

The insurance company and the Fire Marshall are investigating the cause of the fire.

The building that burned is building 100, part of Sunset Point II. Sunset Point II is composed of the 100, 200, and 300 buildings. Sunset Point III is composed of buildings 400 & 500. Sunset Cove is composed of the 600,700 and 800 building. The original Sunset Point I is on the other side of the new pool. Sunset Point II, III and Cove have essentially identical units. Sunset Point I units are a different style of construction. I am president of the SSPIII association, and together with SSPI we are the Sunset Point condos with access to the new pool.

Last year we stayed in unit 222. I guess that means it was the 200 building which was not affected. This building was the last one on the left...if viewing from the lake...and the pool was a few hundred feet more walk to the left. Is Bldg 100 to the right of 200 or to the left (from the lake) of the big pool?

Building 100 is to the immediate right of the pool viewing from the water.
