Does anyone know if there is a grace period to get a pwc registered? I am
getting a new one and can't get to the courthouse until Monday and would
like to use it this weekend. thanks for any help.

I recently got one on a Saturady, and just put the bill of sale in the storage compartment in case there were any issues. Not sure if that will work.

I believe you have 7 days to register, but could be mistaken. Call the Tallapoosa Probate Office at (256) 825-4266.

But whatever they say make sure you have the Bill of Sale with you in case the Marine Patrol stops you and you are within the grace period.

If memory serves me correct you have 3 days for a new one, and I know for certain that you have NO grace period for a used one.

There is a 3 business day grace period for brand new boats. So, if you pick up a new boat on Friday the grace period will get you through the weekend. For used boats, as another poster said, there is no grace period.

If it is a brand new pwc then keep a copy of the bill of sale on board with you. If you get stopped you will need to show the bill of sale to the officer.
