Hey - for all interested folks, see the link below, I went by Catherine's Market today and had lunch. I snapped a few pics while I was there. It was as advertised. I liked it, and will be back. I also linked in the menu at the bottom of the post. If anyone else has eaten there, I would be interested to know their impressions. Feel free to leave a comment at the bottom.

We went by the Catherine's yesterday. It was a bit smaller than I expected, but the selctions are outstanding. I was looking for a few items like a great bottle of olive oil, and I wasn't disappointed. I also found truffled honey (which I'm using to replicate the majool date appetizer from the Yellow Hammer -- yum!)
It was too early for lunch when I was there, but the cafe selections looked good. I just bought a cup of coffee and for just a $1.45, it was a nice dark French Roast, and not bitter at all. Looked like they had a good wine selection.
It looked to me like the deli salads were all freshly prepared. No canned or commercially prepared stuff.
I didn't think the prices were out of line for the quality they were offering. I'd say the quality was on par with Whole Foods; in fact, it rather reminded me of a mini-Whole Foods. I'd head for the bakery if I was in the mood for indulging.

Definitely plan to try the cafe.

It is nice to have on this side of the lake. It does look great as they first open, I really hope there is enough volume for them to keep up the quality. I look forward to the new restaurant too.

Would be great to have more like that (or just a BBQ/Steak or Seafood place) on this side of the lake (Parker Creek) but I guess we would have to deal with Russell development before that could happen. Hmmmm maybe we will just enjoy to drive or eat in. I do hope the whole venture does well. Sounds like a SeaSide/Watercolor endeavor.

It looks very much like it's sister place, V. Richards in the Lakeview area of B'ham. V. Richards has done very well throught the years with increased competition. Maybe this place will do just as well.

Wow. Just had my first visit at Catherine's. Really nice. Purchased fresh salmon and boy was it good. Lots of other seafood. It is worth shopping there if you are in the vicinity.
