I let mine expire because I could never get it to receive calls. That and most times I got HORRIBLE connections, but that could be the connectin through charter, not MagicJack.

I don't have a problem receiving calls, but the connection quality is not consistent. I use my cell as my primary number so having it as a second number and land line works great for me.

I'm speaking for the personal experience of a friend of mine... But his Magic Jack would disconnect incoming calls after 30 seconds. Consistently every incoming call would be disconnected at exactly 30 seconds. This guy is pretty technically inclined, but he fooled with the device, different phones and his network settings tirelessly for hours and never could resolve the problem. A call to the customer service number did not resolve the problem.

He ended up giving it to his mother and it worked great for her. Both of them had DSL but he never figured out why it did not work on his network. He said he might get another one and try it, but for the most part, had a frustrating experience with it the first time.

Mine would also drop calls untill I got a POWERED USB Hub. The thing needs more power than the normal USB jack can provide. Since I put it on the Powered Hub it has worked continuously for 3 weeks with out a drop or poor audio.

I tried to use my MagicJack at my home in Stillwaters. It simply does not work.
It is great at our condo in Destin, but not at the lake.
Sorry as it is wonderful when it works.
