Veazy's marina had a sign up saying they were going to open starting today, May 15. Don't know about weekdays or just weekends. Does anyone know if this is someone new? Two weeks ago there wasa still a for rent sign on the door.

Have they done any repair to the pier/floating dock? I hope someone makes a good go of it, with gas, snacks, bbq, pizza and good friendly service...just like Veazy.

Yes, they had the floating dock floating again yesterday.

That's great news. We have been on that part of the lake forever and it just wouldn't seem right for Veazy's to be closed.

Mr. Veazey was one of my best friends (even tho is was much older than I). He used to call me "Biggum" and I learnt alot about business and buying properties from him. The best lesson he ever gave me was once I was installing a ceiling fans on one of his houses and called him complaining that the job was not going to turn out right. I was all excited and upset over the phone and he said " Wait a minute boy, STOP, you aint building no rocket ship, its just a ceiling fan, just make it turn..." I realized I was way to involved in my work. Lots of times now if I am working on a project and I try to get TO PERFECT I think of my old friend Mr. Veasey.

After he got sick I had not seen him in a month or two and was sitting at the Krystal (our hang out) I kept looking as cars drove up thinking I may get to have breakfast with him... I continued looking back out at the parking lot for him to drive up...
I opened the Outlook and there was his obiturary. It sure hit me hard thinking I may have breakfast with him and realizing I was going to his funneral.

No real meaning to this post. Just wanted to share my thoughts about a great ole friend....

Have a great day!

What a great post. Thanks. I only met him a time or too, but you always knew you were welcome. Almost like Brad Paisley's granddad in the video "yall come on in and rock awhile"

I too will be excited to see them re-open. I hope they put the flashing light back into operation. It has always been a good nighttime marker after leaving Sinclair's and a few cocktails.

Veazy's must be on southwest side of lake?

Northwest. Just north of Willow Point.

Veazy's used to be a regular stopping point on our golf ball diving expeditions at Willow Point since it was Holmes Landing. A fixture on that part of the lake.
