Wow, we just returned from as perfect a ride as I have ever had! I didnt check departure time, sunset was 30 min or so off. We left the "between Shady Bay and Bay Pine" abode, and set a course south, at 32 mph. Pass the island with no name, pass Young's Island, pass the rock and followed the channel all the way to Kowaliga Bridge. We then turned around and headed home, this time going behind Acapulco Island. It was a perfect, laid back ride. The moon is about 3/4's full and the sky was beautiful!

D/A report: Plenty of poontoon boats traveling in straight lines and cutting corners.......SUPRISE, there might be a boat underway here! A larger cruiser with no clue what the little red light means on the port side of my boat! And yes, another poontoon with their dock lights on. Otherwise, everyone else seemed well informed.

The weather is perfect, too!. Man, I love Lake Martin!

Ya'll be safe!

But no bumpers in sight?

There were obviously quite a few bumpers, but they were far away........and my eye sight isn't what it used to be.........so I have no bumper report of significance.

Just Darn.

Well, the ride was almost perfect.

I'm just waiting for a creative thread about "Docking Lights".

1.To be used near dock only. 2. Used to help find the dock. 3. Not to be used for normal running around

Can you use them to find your dock if you lost it?

It was a beautiful night on Lake Martin. So thankful that we have a moon out for the 4th. Also came in contact with two boats riding with the docking lights on but the worst offender was a boat fishing with no nav lights on at all. I pray everyone is safe this 4th and we have no postings of any tragedies this weekend!

Shouldn't need lights to find it unless it floated off with the bumpers!! :-)
