Anyone having trouble with their cable at this moment? Ridge area doesn't seem to be working. They don't answer the phone. You would think a service like this that offers Cable TV, phone and internet would at least have some SUPPORT even on a holiday. They are about the POOREST excuse for cable I have experienced and they have a monopoly here at the Ridge. Don't even think about going with their service if you have an option. I'm moving on to satellite...

Just out of curiousity, how are you sending this without your cable?

go with dish and AT&T DSL. I made the switch and never have a problem anymore and it is less costly with more channels, better quality and the DSL has not gone down once in almost a year now.

ATT DSL by choice. Why take a chance using Comlink for both services... Someone got a sweetheart deal at Comlink or RL on servicing the Windemere, Windover and Ridge areas of Lake Martin where no other cable TV companies compete. Where I'm from, that is no longer acceptable.

I am no huge of Comlink but in their defense. Yesterday the Ridge was out of service for a few hours. When I arrived home after playing on the lake my wife informed me the cable was out again. She said that she was told by someone that there was a tech in the Ridge looking into the issue. I immediately thought, OH NO! I hope not that someone else has cut our cable by digging on their lot. (Which has been the most of our problems.) So... I jumped on my bike with my dog and went in search of the Comlink guy. I found him off in the wood in the corner lot of our street. He said that the system was out due to an old lighting strike that might had just popped the breaker now. They had it fixed in less than a few hours.
That said, I think that they (Comlink) could use some good old competition and we (customers) might be the benefactors of such a set up. Comlink needs to get some newer set top boxes with High-Def-DVR's Most of the cable companies have these boxes. They also need to staff the call center with a live person or at least have an answering service. Okay I am off my soap box.

I have had Comlink cable since I bought the ol' cabin in '96. Had cable before I had a working frig or running water. While the quality of picture can be affected by storms (and I am sure age of equipment), I have been amazed at the mininum down time. For about four years or more I have had cable modem as well. Again, downtime has been minimum, and they have responded to service calls. A competitor my do better, but I have been basically pleased with Comlink.

we use the cable modem with comlink and it is far better than my dsl in birmingham. Going on 4 years with minimal outages. The last one was due to lightning stikes that affected our home only. Comlink worked and communicated until the service was restored by a service man's visit to our lot.
