(ET-uh-wah) Rising in the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Georgia and flowing southwest to Rome, Georgia, where it joins the Oostanaula River to form the Coosa. 34°39'N 84°07'W. Allatoona Dam, built for flood control and hydroelectric power, is important in the development and growth of manufacturing in north Georgia and north Alabama.
