(o-KO-nee) Rising in the Appalachian Mountains, north Georgia and flowing southeast to the Ocmulgee River to form the Altamaha River at 34°23'N 83°39'W. Sinclair Dam (completed 1953) and Furman Shoals Dam (completed 1953) are on the Oconee.
