No, you completely miss the point. If the mask does anything to help it should be both coming and going, right? How can it only work one way? So if it somehow prevents your droplets and aerosols from escaping then it should likewise prevent other people's droplets and aerosols from entering, right? Or is it only a magical one-way device? So if you are wearing a mask then you shouldn't care about whether someone else does or not.
As for being dumb, I have spent 30 years in the environmental industry where we deal with airborne chemical and biological hazards all the time. I know the science and I know that these masks only eliminate around 5% of the risk of airborne chemical and biological debris. If I told my employees that all they needed was these masks they would revolt because they likewise understand the science. You however, are scientifically illiterate as evidenced by your posts on this issue. But like I keep saying, listen to the Atlanta mayor and wear your mask....do like her and you will probably also get infected if you loosen up on the other measures, assuming of course you happen to get close to one of the 0.9% of people that supposedly have the virus.
