Beaches are open and beautiful. Recent release came from another well that was being capped but hit in Louisiana. There is no discernible, visually obvious oil on the beaches except the occasional tar ball. BP stopped their beach combing crews because they were a waste of time and money. As for long-term effects on flora and fauna, BP is spending tens of millions to study it, NOAA and other federal and state agencies are spending millions of dollars to study it........results and fighting to continue for years.

Go enjoy the beach, eat the shrimp and oysters and wear lots of sun screen because that is the biggest health risk you will encounter in the gulf......except the drive to get there......
