While speaking at the MLK event, Ocasio was asked about "economic systems" that allowed "billionaires". She said, "I do think that such a system that allows billionaires to exist when there are people still getting 'ringworm' in Alabama because they don't have access to public health is immoral and wrong".
However, when speaking about "immoral", she went on to say, "it's important to say that I don't think that "all billionaires" are immoral. It's not to say that someone like Bill Gates or Warren Buffett are immoral people. I do not believe that". I guess she thinks she can determine which one are moral and which ones are immoral. She had to clarify her statements regarding cases of "ringworm" in Alabama, when what she was referring to was actually "hookworm". Oddly enough, the Alabama Department of Public Health said that an environmental study showed "no statistical significance" in the number of hookworm infections in the state. With her "prediction" that the world will come to an end in twelve years, and the ringworm/hookworm fiasco, please don't turn her loose with Maxine Waters on the House Financial Services Committee. Also, I sure don't want her diagnosing any of my health care "needs".
