Something is missing entirely from this article.  Any mention of whether those that experienced heart-related issues were vaccinated or boosted and when those happened relative to the onset of cardiac issues.  Maybe that was covered in the studies (would be negligent if they didn't) but the author of the article sure doesn't mention it....which makes me think it was ommitted intentionally if it was addressed in the studies.  The UK has very high vax and boost rates so I suspect that many of those that had these issues were vaxxed and many of those were boosted.  The only anecdotal story in the piece preceded the vaccines and also involved the more serious Delta variant......also very curious.

But here is I think the money quote from the article.  "One possibility is that the virus’s spike protein — which it uses to invade human cells — can cause an outbreak of localised inflammation in heart tissue that is so intense that it damages the muscle. Dr Zhiqiang Lin, an assistant professor of cardiology at the Masonic Medical Research Institute in New York...".  And what is the sole purpose of the rMNA vaccines?  To create the very same spike proteins to create resistence to serious illness (since we know it doesn't prevent infection).  We know the vaccines cause myocarditis which is inflamation around the heart muscle.

So the answer is that at a minimum it could be both since the virus and the vaccine create spike proteins that damage the heart.  But as we move further from the pandemic and excess deaths continue unabated it seems more likely that the cause is the vaccines and more importantly the boosters which cause an increase in heart damaging spike proteins.
