Some folks use tea leaves, others a crystal ball, but the best predictions come from studying……chicken feathers, so here are the
“Eclectic Chicken Auction New Year Predictions for 2010”
January: Maddog has a George Costanza moment after his “I must swim every month” swim on January 5th. He explains to his wife “Well, as I came out of the water, I looked down, it looked like an icycle, I thumped it, and it fell off”
February: Feb has to go to counseling when Tallulahhound breaks the news to him, “No, Feb, the month is not named after you”.
March: After winning a relicensing injunction on lake level, the water warriors—FullPool, PC AL, Kenny D, FLgirl, preserveLM, and Osms---- march on the Alabama Power office in Clanton chanting “Four eighty three at last, four eighty three at last”
April: After convincing Delta to install two Etecs on the plane for his next flight, jlazc breaks a world record in a flight from Willow Point to Wetumpka.
May: Finishing its GPS monitoring system, Alabama Power installs a satelite system over Lake Martin to electronically signal and prohibit any structural change within 30 feet of 490…except for property owned by Russell Lands, Inc.
June: With the huge success of his football pools in the fall, and needing a little “action” for the summertime, BigFoot initiates the first ever “Spookey Marine Poker Run Pool”. He stations slow pontoon boats (you know who you are) at various locations to get up-to-the-minute results of the poker hands, red faces, and pictures of the best bumpers.
July: The entire acquapalooza stage is set up for a return engagement. The Kowalgia waters are filled with boats, swimmers, and the Lake Martin Love Shack. However, the entertainers fail to attend, so Maverick shows “elf” movies on the big screen.
August: Mack, Little Talisi, WarEggle and Maddog finally get their “Lake Martin Butt-Slapping BBQ Cookoff”. Several questions are answered: BGE vs Smoker, Pork vs Beef, Cooking time per pound, Cholestrol per bite. During the event an official name is selected: “Lake Martin Bumpers and Butts”
September: 4lakelivn organizes the first ever “Lake Martin Newcomers Association” with information and tips for new lake home owners and boaters. Noagenda and Hadenuff are enlisted to write policies and procedures. Online daily restaurant reviews by Pontoonfisher, Kizma, ‘hound, bamaalum and PC AL. Catboat will be featured each month with an article on bumpers, fenders, oil and other chit.
October: After being finalists in Last Comic Standing, Summer Lover and Rude Evin are invited to the White House along with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid for the “Jokesters Beer Summit”
November: Lake Martin Off-Topic forum (aka Political Moo-chit) is finally abolished, as all the democrats are voted out of office. MartiniMan, WaterWatcher, GoneFishing, ‘Hound, MrHodja and lotowner form a bridge club.
December: Alan Jackson buys the Schrushy Mansion, and sets up stage for the entire month. Guest stars are Jimmy Buffet, Willie Nelson, and the off-key karoke singers from Chucks marine (unfortunately, you don’t know who you are).
